I’ll even show you how to use the power of Camera RAW via Smart Objects in Photoshop, giving you the ultimate in creative flexibility.

In this class, I’ll not only demonstrate every aspect of using Adobe Camera RAW, via pre-recorded video, I’ll also show you, during live training sessions, how to use Camera RAW as an artist, and how the power you’ll find there can be every bit as creative and liberating as any brush you’ll ever use!

The Poems Please Me Poetry Competition 2013

Featured

We are delighted to collaborate with the Poems Please Me Poetry Competition 2013. Members of The Artists’ Quarter will be working on illustrative techniques and skills during the coming months in preparation for illustrating the winning poems. The winner of the poetry competition will have the illustration of their choice printed on canvas, as part of their prize. The chosen illustrator will also receive a canvas print. This may well be the first time digital artists collaborate with poets in this way.

The PPM competition is on the theme of Movement. You will find the details on the Poems Please Me website. If you know any budding poets who may be interested, do please tell them!

‘Peefer+’. The next Photoshop CS6 clone-painting class at TAQ

Featured

A while ago I developed my own tools and techniques for Mixer Brush clone-painting in Photoshop CS5. The class surrounding these techniques, P is for Painterly (known forever more as Peefer) was one of the most popular classes ever at TAQ, and many Photoshop artists are still using those techniques.

My new Peefer+ class, at The Artists’ Quarter expands on those core Mixer Brush cloning techniques, this time in Photoshop CS6, using a brand new range of my own CS6 Mixer Brush presets, and updated techniques, which result in digital paintings which are virtually indistinguishable from traditional oil or acrylic paintings!

Great minds think alike: The Adobe Watercolour Assistant!

Featured

I’ve recently been working with Russell Brown from Adobe, to create the brand new Adobe Watercolour Assistant panel for Photoshop CS6.

Adobe Watercolour AssistantEven if you have never painted digitally before, this panel will allow you to create beautiful watercolour paintings, directly from photographs in Photoshop. The panel itself employs my own watercolour cloning techniques, brushes and presets, and leads you step-by-step through the process of cloning digital watercolour paintings.

I’m so delighted to have had the opportunity to work with Russell on this project, and after some recent beta testing, this new Adobe Watercolour Assistant is available now, directly from Russell’s own site; The Russell Brown Show

This panel also includes video tutorials from Russell and myself.

The Adobe Watercolour Assistant is a fantastic introduction to watercolour cloning in Photoshop CS6, but, after that, if you would then like to take watercolour in Photoshop further, you can purchase the full set of my watercolour cloning presets from TAQ here, or even sign up to my full-blown CS6 watercolour class here, where I will lead you through the art of Photoshop watercolour, via recorded video instruction from my recent live class.

Please note: To purchase from The Artists’ Quarter, you must be registered there! For instruction on how to register for a free account, see this post!

I truly believe that what Russell and I have created here marks a watershed in Photoshop clone-painting, allowing you to create remarkably realistic results.

Below you’ll see some examples of my own Photoshop watercolour paintings using the techniques used in the panel.
